The moment that we heard that first scream, laid eyes on her precious face, and grasped her tiny hands we realized that all of the effort that we put forth to bring her into the world was worthwhile. Our fifteen year search for qualified fertility specialists certainly exposed us to a diverse range of specialists. While we were always aware that the specialists involved were in business to make a profit, at times we got the impression that we were “just another number” to be processed. It was through this process that we became acutely aware of just how important it was to locate and work with a specialist that truly had a vested interest in our success. So much so that we believe that if we had worked with our final fertility specialist at the outset of our efforts to conceive we would be living with a teenager right now! We have been through the process of trying to conceive and realize the emotional and financial toll that the journey exacts. The cost involved was always a decisive factor but more importantly we wanted to be assured that the people with whom we were working were truly interested in assisting us to become parents.
